After raising a baby squirrel, I began to feed the squirrels and next thing you knew, I had 7 squirrels who would eat right from my hand. It wasn't long before 2 chipmunks joined in on the bounty. They will come right up in my lap and eat. I lean out my window each morning and feed all of them. A blue jay began to hover, and when I would toss a final handful, he'd fly down and scoop up 2 whole almonds. I am now working on getting the 3 that show up to eat from my hands!

Feminism isn't something that can come and go with fashion. Everyone (no matter what gender we identify ourselves as) of us owes our current way of life to feminism. It is about choosing the way YOU want to live your life, without a prescribed gender role deciding it for you.

August Landmesser was a worker at the Blohm + Voss shipyard in Hamburg, Germany, and is best known for his appearance in a photograph refusing to perform the Nazi salute at the launch of the naval training vessel Horst Wessel on 13 June, 1936. He had been a Nazi Party member from 1931 to 1935, but after fathering children with a Jewish woman, he had been found guilty of “dishonoring the race” under Nazi racial laws and had come to oppose Hitler’s regime.
