I really enjoyed the visuals in Mood Indigo by Gondry. However, they should have taken it easy on the constant stop motion and silliness and focused more on plot and characters. One thing I loved was the concept of transitioning from vibrance and utopia to utter dreariness, as by the end it's a black and white film. Also, the ending was just devastating, I was hoping for anything to lighten the mood but clearly they didn't want a happy ending.
Birdman - loved this movie, with amazing individual performances (Ed Norton Jr. Is perfect), great cinematography, and a syncopated jazz drumming score that is totally unique and appropriate to the manic energy throughout.
