Aug. 31. #MaltaMapMonday. This 17th-century print by the poet Daniel Meisner formed part of his "Thesaurus Philo-Politicus. Das ist Politisches Schatzkästlein guter Herren und bestendiger Freund" printed by Eberhard Kieser in Frankfurt in 1638. Note the classical medical Stoic proverb in Latin "Whatever you do, do it wisely, and look at the end" followed by a more Christian "At the end of life, there will be eternal life." The title reads, "One must reflect on the end of life."
