St Dunstan-in-the-East is situated between London Bridge and the Tower of London and was built in 1100. It suffered from fire damage from the Great Fire of London in 1666. It was patched up and a Sir Christopher Wren-designed steeple added in 1695. It was severely hit during the Blitz in 1941 and the ruins were turned into a public garden in 1971.
