Suess, D. & Stevenson, J. (1987). I am Not Going to Get Up Today! New York: Beginner Book. This book is an early reader, fiction story that encompasses Dr. Suess’ zany rhymes and imaginative ideas. It focuses on a young boy who wants to stay in bed all day and wishes to be left alone. The boy refuses to get out of bed no matter how they try to get him up. Although depression is not the focus of the story, this desire to stay in bed is a common symptom.
