The Ruts were part of the second generation of Punk groups to make the UK charts even if they weren't punk rockers! They were more intelligent than most & their brash sound & anthemic singles put them above many other new wave acts. They dabbled in reggae with great success forming a musical bond with Misty In Roots. There was chart success in 1979 with "Babylon's Burnin"& "Starin' at the Rude Boys" before leader Malcolm Owen died of a heroin overdose in 1980. I still play their CD's…
