Anna Pavlova (1881-1931) is known as one of the finest classical ballet dancers. She was a Russian ballerina, particularly known for her creation of The Dying Swan. Pavlova was accepted with the Imperial Ballet in 1899 and appeared in La Fille Mas Gardee the same year. By 1905, Pavlova was appointed prima ballerina. The Dying Swan was choreographed by Mikhail Fokine especially for Pavlova. She was the first ballerina to tour around the world.
