SNARE DRUM, GUITAR AMP and SCRATCH VOCALS: We used the SM57 on several instruments. We had one on the snare (top), one on the rhythm guitar amp and another for the scratch vocal. Typically I would use a condenser on the vocal, even a scratch, but the whole band was in one room so this prevented lots of bleed.
