My spin on making your own parasol, the original how-to article instructed to remove existing umbrella fabric but with the difference of intensity with sunlight now as opposed to the Victorian/Edwardian era I felt it appropriate to leave the existing fabric  add on rather than strip it to the frame  add transparent designs. So it won't be historically accurate/authentic but more or less a modern twist on a Victorian classic accessory. Easily under $10 for this project.
