"Brooklyn Bridge stop...beautifully preserved City Hall station from 1904. The city closed the station in 1945...In 1995 the city vowed to restore the site and turn it into a part of the transit museum, but those plans were scrapped...now passengers are allowed to stay on. So the next time you reach the end of the line, keep going. And check out these amazing photos courtesy of John-Paul Palescandolo and Eric Kazmirek" ~ New York
Reclaimed by Mother Nature.....Shengsi, an archipelago of almost 400 islands at the mouth of China’s Yangtze river, holds a secret shrouded in time – an abandoned fishing village being reclaimed by nature. These photos by Tang Yuhong, a creative photographer based in Nanning, take us into this lost village on Goqui island.
There is a 'lost' village in the heart of Salisbury Plain in VisitWiltshire called Imber? During WW2 it was taken over as a military base. These days its a beautiful place to enjoy a walk! c.Mark Cooper
