Instagrammed version of the photo I took next to the main swimming pool at Hotel Padma Legian. Legian, Bali, Indonesia. 16 June 2012. We'd already checked out but were allowed to hang out at the hotel until our shuttle bus picked us up to take us to the airport later that evening. This was probably the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in and one I wouldn't mind going back to.

Traditional Balinese Legong dance, restaurant, Hotel Padma Legian, Legian, Bali, Indonesia. 12 June 2012. They put on a whole 'babi guling' (roast suckling pig) for the feast. I ate my fill but Renee of course declined. Amazing how suckling pig is a feature of the menu in overwhelmingly Hindu Bali, but would be totally anathema in the Muslim-majority islands either side (Java to the west and Lombok to the east).

Renee at the restaurant we had lunch in next to Gunung Kintamani (Mt Kintamani), central north-eastern Bali, Indonesia. 13 June 2012. The Kintamani Lake sits in its volcanic caldera. I actually had lunch here about eight years previously during a trip to Bali when I lived in Darwin all those years ago. 13 June 2012.

Renee and I in the centre of the Legong dancers, Hotel Padma Legian. Legian, Bali, Indonesia. 12 June 2012.

Renee at Pura Dalem Batuan again, Batuan, Bali. 13 June 2012.

Taking the final sharp right-bank turn heading back into Franz Joseph Township from the Glacier, 6 March 2013.

Lumi and Renee, at the Beachfront Hotel, Nightcliff, NT. 17 June 2012. After this Paul and Lumi drove us to the airport to catch our flight back to Sydney, and then Canberra. It was good to catch up with old friends at the end of a holiday. Almost a 'holiday after the holiday.

Me at breakfast, Hotel Padma Legian, Legian, Bali, Indonesia. 11 June 2012 or thereabouts. Luckily this shot doesn't show the rapidly-accumulating spare tyre around my waist, brought about in part by the massive breakfasts this place served.
