My great friend and critique partner Miriam Allenson won the Gold Leaf award for Best First Book at the NJ Romance Writers conference in 2015. And I got to present it to her! That was so fantastic! The hard part was that I knew ahead of time and I had to avoid giving her even a hint that she was the winner, but I managed it.
