Great Barrier Reef, Australia

The Great Barrier Reef. One place I want to go to when I go back to Australia some day again. It looks beautiful.

* * TURTLE: " Az long az me don'ts swims into any plastic straws dat gets jammed up me nose; it shoulds beez tranquil." [THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENS BECAUSE OF ALL THE 1,000'S OF POUNDS OF PLASTIC IN THE OCEAN. TO SAY NOTHING OF OTHER GARBAGE, OIL AND TOXINS!

Some plants need food in order to survive. Coral on the other hand~ Corals are animals because they do not make their own food, as plants do. Corals have tiny, tentacle-like arms that they use to capture their food from the water and sweep into their inscrutable mouths. Any structure that we call "a coral" is, in fact, made up of hundreds to thousands of tiny coral creatures called polyps.
