I think that the BuzzFeed website has a well designed main content area. I think that the square design of the content flows well on the page. I also like the logo in the left corner and the categorized yellow links on the right side. I think that the various square designs make the information appear more organized. I would like to incorporate something similar to the yellow circular designs on my website to add a pop of color.

The white background and use of light colors and attractive design on the header and around the logo name that Free People's site uses inspires me. Rather than overwhelming users with paragraphs of information they use pictures and very few wording to help users find clothing/accessories. This element is highly attractive to me. If I could incorporate more eye-grabbing designs, photos, and videos to my site rather than bulky paragraphs, i believe it will be more successful.

I really like Imgur's color choice. The green and the black compliment each other and help direct the user's attention to the gallery of photos. I wouldn't exactly chose the black and green theme, but I would chose colors that do one of three things like Imgur does: complimenting colors, colors that don't deter the reader from the rest of the site, and that works well with the background colors.

An aspect of this website that I really like is the banner and logo for Harrisonburg's Record Day Store. They incorporated the product they were selling into the name of the store so the user immediately knows what is in store for them. If at all possible, I would like to include something in my own site that resembles this idea of incorporating a related image into the name of my site.

What grabbed my attention for Amy Poehler's Smartgirls site was the use of light blue and continuous patterns as the background and the style of font. Both qualities are inviting:they are fun but not overdone. They don't take away from the information displayed. I would like to incorporate a funky type font in my site that is welcoming but not overdone, like is displayed here. And if I could do a lighter color background but a similar looking pattern that would make my website "pop".

As previously stated, I really like the simple use of colors Facebook uses. It's not overwhelming and makes it easier for videos and pictures to stand out. I also really like the features the website provides. If I could add a "like" or "message" element to my site i think it would be more enticing for users to visit my page more frequently.

I absolutely love how this website places an extremely plain font over a very busy and colorful background picture. The balance between the text and the picture is very appropriate, and does not bring about any feelings of busyness or overbearingness within the design. This layout makes me feel as if I am actually in the website, because of how the main picture they chose to display is so captivating and appealing.

I chose the Vogue website because I like the futuristic design. The main menu is in a small font and is in the center of the page which gives it a simplistic feeling. In the left hand corner, there is an icon that expands into a larger, more detailed menu. I like this design because it hides the majority of the content until you want to see it for yourself. I think that on my own website, I would consider doing a similar design with the content expanding in one click.

I chose the Lululemon website because I think it has a very simple, streamline design. I like the way the logo has a pop of color and is in the very center with the global navigation at the top. I think that this design looks sleek especially with the large images on the home page. In my own blog, I can see myself using a menu or global navigation such as this because of the user friendly aspect.

The layout is not in your face but the top picture quickly grabbed my attention. Additionally, I really like how each heading has a related picture below, giving the user an idea of what to expect. I would incorporate this box-style layout to ensure simple navigation through my page's folders. Lastly, the plain background make the videos/pictures pop out-they were the first things I wanted to click on. If possible, I would like to do something along those lines-have my work stand out
