Excelsoir Manxman.The Manxman was a motorcycle designed and built by H. J. Hatch and Eric Walker of the Excelsior Motor Company in Tyseley, Birmingham. Although it never won the Isle of Man TT, the Manxman was a very popular and reliable motorcycle which was successful in international racing and the Manx Grand Prix. A year later, became largest motorcycle manufacturer with annual production of over 500 units.,... 20 years later Harley began production, WW11 both companies dominated the industry. Amalgamated BSA-Triumph-Norton was the worlds largest producer, Honda multi-cylinders killed their dominance. Today Triumph is even better.
The Brough Superior name has been revived by Austrian-based businessman and motorcycling enthusiast Mark Upham. These bikes are meticulous recreations of the originals, and built to the same Rolls-Royce quality standard as George Brough’s own machines. The ‘new’ engines are liter-class OHV V-twins—updated and refined versions of the J.A.P. racing engine used by George Brough in 1927.
