This family saga by Colleen McCullough was rejected 42 times before it was finally accepted. It went on to become a huge bestseller and a fabulous television miniseries starring Richard Chamberlain in his heartthrob days. The book is one of my all-time favorites, as is the miniseries. - Ronni
