Often called Usagi Jima or 'Rabbit Island', it is famous for its rabbit population that has taken over the island and become a tourist attraction in its own right. Wildlife comeback in Europe - in pictures

With the help of hunting restrictions and reintroduction schemes, the species has also expanded its range by 650% across the continent, and is now found in at least 25 countries, including the UK
