Kitbuqa Noyan, a Nestorian Christian of the Naiman Mongol, was a lieutenant and confidant of the Mongol Hulagu Khan. Kitbuqa attempted to continue the Mongol advance towards Egypt. At the pivotal Battle of Ain Jalut in 1260, The Mongols were defeated, and Kitbuqa was slaughtered.
