Gustav Vigeland (1869-1943) Gustav Vigeland was born in Mandal, in southern Norway, 11 April 1869 - died in Oslo 12 March 1943. He is important in the Norwegian art history, as his work contributed to promote the position of sculpture in Norway. Vigelands monumental sculpture park is located at Frogner in Oslo.
Self Portrait (1906) by Carl Larsson. Carl Larsson (May 28, 1853 – January 22, 1919) was a Swedish painter and interior designer, representative of the Arts and Crafts Movement. His many paintings include oils, watercolors, and frescoes. His finest work is considered to be Midvinterblot (Midwinter Sacrifice), a large wall mural now displayed inside the Swedish National Museum of Fine Arts.
