Grimbergen, a very tasty Belgian Dubbel Abbey Ale. Did you know, that the symbol is a Phoenix, to represent the spirit of the brewery. Throughout the years, it was burnt down multiple times, and each time, it rose from the ashes. (Thank goodness, it is such a tasty beer!)

Metal advertising sign for Gueuze des Flandres from 1920 Brewery L. Baeten from Overmeire (Belgium) was active from 1892 to 1940. The sign is almost 100 years old and shows clear signs of age (the original and swivelling metal mounting eyelet is still present). The typical Belgian Geuze beer (or Gueuze in French) is a murky, golden to amber, sparkling drink with a complex sour to bitter taste and sour acidic smell. It has an alcohol content of 5% to 8% and about 0.2% sugar remains after…

This hazy, amber gold weisse beer from Hacker-Pschorr is truly exceptional. The faint hint of bananas and cloves come through the thick white head that disperses quickly to just a fringe around the edge. A creamy, almost silky taste gives this beer a medium body, very drinkable taste. This one checks all the boxes as to what a classic German wheat beer is supposed to be. Don't pass this beer up next time your at the store. 5 stars out of 5.
