Explore Orton Coat, Coat Of Arms and more!

Hailing from Epsom, Sgt Wilfrid T Page was permitted by the local council to paint his home town's coat of arms on Hurricane Mk I JX-M on joining No 1 Squadron RAF at RAF Wittering on 27 September 1940. On 29 October, the 26-year-old pilot claimed a Do 17 destroyed but during the combat return fire damaged the glycol system, forcing him to land at Orton, the aircraft being a write off.
