Kinship and Foster Carers go through the same checks, training and have the same role as a non-related carer. Yet, there is a clear disparity in the financial support offered by local authorities. This support then ceases, in part, once the carer wishes to apply for SGO or adopts the child!
Ali Mohammed al-Nimr is set to be beheaded & crucified for his role in 2012 pro-democracy protests. He was arrested at age 17 & convicted of encouraging protests during the Arab Spring. He faces execution any day. In response to mounting international pressure to release al-Nimr, the Saudi Embassy in London said, "the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia rejects any form of interference in its internal affairs and any impingement on its sovereignty or the independence and impartiality of its judiciary."
Ali Mohammed Al-Nimr: Facing Death by Crucifixion and Beheading in Saudi Arabia. Mr al-Nimr, who was arrested in 2012 for his participation in Arab Spring protests when he was just 16 or 17 years old, could now be put to death at any time. The young man’s case has been the subject of fervent campaigning from rights groups including Amnesty International and Reprieve, who say he was tortured and forced to sign a false confession before being sentenced to “death by crucifixion”.
