A beautiful, deep red lacquer sideboard from Qinghai province in western China, dating from around 1900. The shape and design are almost modern, with thick frames and minimal decoration. The two side doors have been added recently in place of what would originally have been fixed panels, making the cabinet more practical for use as a modern sideboard.
