There's nothing quite like a vase of fresh flowers to lift and refresh the home. But unfortunately, most fresh cut flowers don't last very long. The secret to keeping cut flowers looking good for as long as possible is to minimise the growth of bacteria in the water and to provide nourishment to replace what the flowers would have gotten had they not been cut.
Iced Gems. Loved these when I was a kid! I used to bite off the icing & put the cookie part back in the jar. Needless to say, when my mom/grandmother took the jar out to serve to guests they were not to happy to find a jar full of un-iced cookies.
Rosa Munstead Wood ('Ausbernard') (PBR) - Richly coloured, many-petalled, cup-shaped flowers, that have a wonderfully fruity fragrance, form on this bushy shrub rose throughout the summer. The leaves emerge with a reddish-bronze flush before they turn mid-green, creating further interest in spring. An award-winning rose, which shows a good resistance to disease, this is a wonderful specimen for a rose garden or mixed border.
