This sticky rice pudding can be served for breakfast or as a dessert. When I was traveling in Thailand, I had this rice pudding almost every morning, served in small banana leaf bowls, with thick coconut cream and fresh mangoes. It is easily one of my favorite food memories of all time.
Cold somen noodle salad. Looks delish, but even if i wasn't a veggie I'd be really skeeved by the thought of eating a product called "fish sauce." No thanks, bro. I'll stick with my tamari. (But probably less, because tamari's a full-bodied kinda soy sauce and 2T. would be kinda strong, maybe. But idk... black bean and garlic sauce might work too... mmm...)
Thai-Style Put shredded Napa cabbage (about 12 cups) in a large bowl with 1/2 cup chopped peanuts and 1 cup chopped mint. Combine 3 tablespoons fish sauce, 1 to 2 tablespoons rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon neutral oil, the juice of 1 lime and some minced fresh hot chili to taste; whisk to dissolve the sugar. Add the dressing to the cabbage and toss.
Unbelievable flavor combinations here. The Earthiness of the mushrooms and sage, the bite of the pancetta, and the savory cheese combined to make something that made my eyes roll way back into my head. This is going into the rotation.
