What's Looking at You, Kid? - This delightful picture book features a quatrain on each spread that observes something in nature, followed by two lines that usually start, "Look who's..." Kids will want to shout out the answers, which are obvious from the beautiful illustrations by Renee Graef. Here's one of my favorite spreads: "Skimming ponds and country lanes, whizzing wings of windowpanes. Look, a pair of fairy planes." Dragonflies have never been treated better!
Randomly Reading: A Poem in Your Pocket by Margaret McNamara, illustrated by G. Brian Karas. I thought this was going to be a story about a girl who just wasn't terribly poetic. Instead it was about how we all have a poet's eye and that there is no such thing as a perfect poem.
