1800's. This a a very beautiful portrait. The lady in this image has no makeup on besides a form of lipstick. I love this hair style, i am confused as to how this would stay up so perfectly, as it is all gathered to one side. I love that there is a simple necklace round her neck, nothing distracting around the neck.

Feathered hair: hard to pull off with South St. Louis humidity, but we sure tried to get this look. I remember getting my hair "feathered" the day of my 8th grade graduation (when I wore the beautiful dress Virginia Jurgensen made for me) and all the boys told me how pretty I looked.
