These wonderful twin buildings have stone quoins and pediments on the street side. One of them is clearly inhabited; the other’s crumbling wall plaster reveals the brickwork construction underneath. Two other smaller houses exist between them. They seem more recent, in a standard but cute Portuguese vernacular, whereas the two larger pavilions both look English Palladian.
