Without flowers life will be dull and lonely

Seed Heads and Flowers. Made for Gaynor Wakeley. Made a feature of a large blank wall of a modern extension on a traditional building. The idea was for something to break up the dull looking wall, then after some research Gaynor came up with the idea of basing the wall sculpture around semiabstract drawings of English seedheads based on artwork from her collection. In the end Gaynor came to my studio and did some of the full sized drawings herself. Alan Ross, Herefordshire;

Shrub - Pittosporum 'Garnettii' Pittosporum 'Garnettii' is a medium-sized evergreen shrub with grey-green leaves edged with cream, sometimes tinged with pink in winter. In late spring and early summer it produces clusters of deep purple flowers. It will grow in sun or partial shade, and the variegated foliage is perfect for brightening up a dull corner of the garden as well as providing evergreen structure throughout the year. Plant in a sheltered position in well drained soil.

Bright, attractive and weather resistant these colourful chalkboard Daisies will transform dull playground fencing into an exciting and fun area for young children to explore outdoor mark making.

More Angie Lewin - fascinating fact . . . she uses a wooden spoon to burnish her designs which she prints onto Japanese paper (this absorbs the ink well)
