This real 45-foot Christmas tree has been erected at Boston Common (central public park) with official lighting ceremony on November 29, 2012. This tree is the 71st annual traditional gift from Nova Scotia as a way to thank Boston for the help it sent to Halifax, the province’s capital, after a munitions ship exploded in Halifax Harbor on December 6, 1917. This photo was taken on Christmas Eve December 24, 2012.
