Guy Martin | born 4 November 1981 in Kirmington, Lincolnshire, England | British motorcycle racer. Has primarily competed in road racing events. Widely regarded as an amiable and "colourful" character, Martin has at times found it difficult to concentrate on his racing, primarily as a consequence of the huge media attention he attracts, not least at the Isle of Man TT. Creating certain a degree of controversy, both with race officials and team principals.

barry sheene e kenny roberts... I wasn't old enough to see these duals but did Barry Sheene leave Suzuki because: Yamaha made a better bike and/or Suzuki didn't put as much effort in on his behalf as Yamaha did for Kenny Roberts or he tried to bully Suzuki into a pay rise? I don't know but any or all could be true. Whichever he never reclaimed his title.

Think about American motor racing legend Eddie Lawson for a moment. You're probably picturing him on the early 80s Kawasaki Z1000 he made famous. Or maybe it's the mid 80s 500cc World Championship Marlboro Yamaha. Or, at a stretch, it could be his Rothman's Honda of the late 80s. And unless you'd had one too many disco biscuits, a BMW boxer is probably the last bike that was on your mind. That'd never work. Or would it? Maybe we've all had one too many biscuits, becaus...
