Homemade CakesIt's not only the U.S. that institutes weird school bans. On the Isle of Wight, an island in the English Channel, the mother of a 12-year-old girl was told in July that she could not bring her mother's home-baked cakes to school because she didn't have a food-hygiene certificate. "I felt, 'how bizarre'," her mom said. "I thought it was a joke. Has health and safety got to the point where you cannot bring home-baked cakes into school?"
Dark chocolate cake with DARK chocolate frosting. a few changes: use 9 oz dark chocolate in frosting instead of listed chocolates. melt choc. and mix into hot and VERY thick custard before cooling for frosting. also use 3 thin cake layers (this saves the trouble of having to split the 2 layers and risk breaking the cake). Andrew made this and added chopped cherries in each frosting layer. TO DIE FOR yumm.
