Vintage England and Wales Map, 1948 Map £10

The Ordnance Survey  New Popular Edition One Inch Map of England & Wales. Sheet 116 Dolgelly. A 1947 copy with revisions from the earlier 1918 map. This one is the cloth backed version, originally costing three Shillings, which were much more durable than the cheaper paper version.  In nice condition, with slight wear to the edges of card cover and crease marks to Map.  Map measures 27.2 by 31,6 when open, and 8.2 by 4.6 closed. Stackpole Estate, Pembrokeshire walk, taking in Barafundle Bay:  "This beautiful broad stretch of sand has been voted Britain's best beach many times and it is easy to see why: a lovely hinterland of woods and pastures, clean water and sand, plus a walk long enough to deter the crowds. We swam out to the famous three arches then I carried on alone back across the bay to explore the caves on the other side. Barafundle received the same 10 as Marloes Sands, but I'd say if you add in the lily…
