David Beckham Launches Own Whiskey, Called Haig Club
Apparently, David Beckham is a whiskey man. The retired soccer star recently launched Haig Club, a single-grain Scotch whisky, with the help of “American Idol” creator Simon Fuller and international liquor conglomerate Diageo, which is said to have notes of "butterscotch and toffee." It's one more in a long line of celeb spirits.
Philippe Coutinho's stunning long-range strike gave Liverpool a late victory over Stoke on the opening weekend. The match was a lacklustre Premier League encounter until the Brazilian's magic four minutes from the end. Former Liverpool man Glen Johnson could have put his new side in front in the first half, but skewed his shot over the bar from 12 yards out. Charlie Adam's long-range free-kick almost sneaked in at the back post but was pushed away by Simon Mignolet.
FT: Liverpool 1 United 2. Simon Mignolet saves Wayne Rooney’s late penalty but Louis van Gaal’s men secure a thoroughly pleasing victory at Anfield courtesy of Juan Mata’s brace as Daniel Sturridge’s strike proves to be nothing more than a consolation for the hosts.
