HAWAIʻI STATE FLOWER — Native Yellow Hibiscus (Hibiscus brackenridgei A. Gray), also known as Pua Aloalo or Maʻo-hau-hele. The Pua Aloalo is a beautiful, indigenous blossom which grows luxuriantly on all the islands and appears to be most generally representative of the Islands, no other flower having so great a variety in color and form, or such continuous blooming. Adopted 1923, 1988.
