The Beatles - 'You've got to hide your love away' I don't remember a world without The Beatles, and literally grew up during their career span. IMO, Lennon-McCartney together made an infinitely mightier songwriting force than either alone. I'm not a fan of Yoko-era Lennon (though his assassination hit me as hard as JFK's did my parents). And I find McCartney positively sappy and sickening without the seriousness contributed by Lennon.

For me, this song always has evoked feelings of tenderness; but apparently for everyone else (i.e. YouTube commenters) it is filed under "death and funerals." Go figure. Anyway, I present Nine Inch Nails' tender and vulnerable and lovely "A Warm Place."
