1866 Princess Dagmar of Denmark ( later Empress Marie of Russia), mother of Nicholas II. She was also the sister of Queen Alexandra, wife of Edward VII and mother of George V. Nicholas and George were thus first cousins.

Day dress of Maria Fyodorovna. 1880s. Maria was Empress consort of Russia as spouse of Emperor Alexander III. She was the second daughter of King Christian IX of Denmark and Louise of Hesse-Cassel. Among her children was the last Russian monarch, Emperor Nicholas II, whom she outlived by ten years.
