Blowing a cut crystal glass vase
The hot glass studio sounds more like a foundry! Did you know that moltern glass is sometimes called metal? These vases are handblown in 24% lead crystal glass. The glass is worked hot and quickly blown into a mould. After each vase has been annealed over several hours the patterns are engraved onto the surface of the vase, to create the sparkling look of cut crystal we know and love.
