Would like to try! Sancocho- typical 'comfort' food in Puerto Rico Sancocho. It is a wonderful thick stew here they are using beef and often times it has rice in it as well. A more traditional one will have calabaza (pumpkin) in place of butternut squash

Arroz con corned beef - another Puerto Rican favorite that just about everyone has their own recipe for. My mom cut the potatoes into extremely thin french fries, did not use salt, and added a few olives. It was always served with a salad dish on the side, which basically consisted of lettuce and tomato with oil and vinegar. Love it!
