Guillaume Voiriot (Paris 1713–1799), A young lady in a light-blue silk dress playing a violin. Although Voiriot initially preferred to work in pastel, he also began painting in oil from the late 1740s onwards. The present portrait seamlessly fits in with the rest of Voiriot’s oeuvre. Characteristic features of his art are the natural elegance and skilfully captured spontaneity of his sitters’ expressions.
