I can take no credit for this most amazing of cocktails and only a crazy person would consider tweaking with the recipe, because it's already absolute perfection - that's largely because it's from the genius of Marcus Wareing who serves it up at The Gilbert Scott.
Triple stack marshmallow brownies: This is a recipe I've been trying to perfect for some time and it has gone through a number of permutations. It started out more like a s'mores with a biscuit base, then it ended up with a brownie bottom and a crumble top and after numerous attempts this is my favourite version. There's something both childishly decadent about the chewy brownie.
Devil's chocolate chip cookies. These are devilishly delicious! I’ve seen numerous cookie recipes over the years with bread flour added in place of regular flour, the reasoning being that it increases the inner chew and outer crisp. I don’t know why I haven’t tried it until now. A little part of me didn’t believe I could better my already perfect oatmeal and raisin cookie. Oh how wrong I was. I made these for the very first time today so I’m sure there is going to be some more…
Eccles cake. This is the only Eccles recipe you'll ever need and I consider myself something of a connoisseur! My father loved an Eccles cake (clearly where I get my sweet tooth) and one of my earliest memories is of him crumbling off a small edge and handing it to me like a tiny pastry and raisin parcel! I've no idea where he bought them from, but they were the best I've ever tasted. Even if it might be an element of childish nostalgia, I definitely remember what made them so good.
Piri piri beef mini roast – a perfect mid-week meal. This Portuguese inspired beef mini roast recipe is brushed with a piri piri glaze made with honey, chillies, dried mixed herbs, oil and ground paprika. The mini roast is ready in under an hour.
Chewy fruit and nut cookies. Half the cookies baked in American households each year are chocolate chip. But there is a whole wealth of other cookie recipes out there for the more adventurous, and this is one of my favourites.
