Explore Deale Md, Md Living and more!

Deale, MD has easy access to the Chesapeake Bay, and so is home to several marinas. We like it because it is all about boating and is not a tourist spot. There is nothing like sitting on the pier at Skippers, eating crab and watching the boat traffic.

In 1943, a skipjack, a sloop-rigged sailboat, dredges the Chesapeake Bay for oysters. The boat started replacing the bugeye as the choice for harvesting oysters in the late 19th century because the skipjack was cheaper and smaller.
