I wanted to give my niece a keepsake gift using my mother's 60 year old wedding dress. I didn't have time to make anything using the silk. So I took a piece of the lace and placed it over a picture of my parents on their wedding day. I purchased a small frame from A.C. Moore and now my niece has a piece of her grandparent's special day to remember wonderful parents to7 and grandparents to 14!!

This clutch bag was made for my friend Jo from the remnants of the bottom of her wedding dress because it was impossible to find a fabric to match her dress. Her beautiful dress was silk layered with chiffon. It was insanely difficult to make a thin round strip of chiffon into a workable rectangle for the bag. The peony is hand-embroidered onto silk because my machine was chewing up silk that week. The green silky lining and magnetic fastening was salvaged from an old handbag of mine which I…
