This desirable King Charles Spaniel micro mosaic brooch is unusual because it is a memorial brooch. It contains a braid of brown hair under a beveled glass locket on the reverse. The engraving is lovely, as well as the micro mosaic itself. It is inscribed PD Schenck obt 29th April 1837. Schenck is a Dutch name. There are Schenck graves in Kingston NY as well as Monmouth NJ.
