When designing an interesting space, layering can add visual interest to a room. Unified by color, a mixture of stripes, patterns and solids are all displayed in this sitting area. It’s important not to focus on each piece individually, but to understand how they all work together collectively. Design by Donovan Swick
This contemporary white living room with a light gray sectional features metallic accents to make a clean, bold statement. A white lamp sits on a clear acrylic end table while the oversized candle holders atop the marble coffee table add visual interest. The large metallic display shelf behind the sofa compliments the style of the space and frames the room.
I know this isn't a pretty living room, but it gives me ideas on my living room that is long shape: two couches against the wall chairs on the ends backless seat and endtables in the middle I do like the tall book cases on either side.
As seen on HGTV's Kitchen Cousins, this renovated living room is filled with color and life. A contemporary gray couch and a cheery chevron carpet fill the center of the room that before had no furniture at all. Brightly colored flowers and pillows add that extra burst of color and contrast to bring the room to life.
This bachelor pad living room has it all: space, style and comfort. A blue wall anchors the gray sofa, while a corner fireplace serves as the room's focal point. A shaggy brown area rug defines the sitting area, which includes a brown leather chair.
