Helen Lau from Luton (UK) was six weeks pregnant when she was diagnosed with a #craniopharyngioma in October 2009. She underwent surgery and in May 2010, she gave birth to son, Mylo without complications. But just a few months later, the tumour was back and even larger. Kalkidan Wondemu Sirbaro, a 7-year-old girl from Ethiopia, was flown to US & underwent surgery for craniopharyngioma at Sutter Medical Center neuroscience facility in downtown Sacramento in Dec 2012. Her treatment in US was made possible by Project Mercy, an Indiana nonprofit that sends aid to Ethiopia. Kalkidan is blind, but doctor says she is healthy enough to return to Ethiopia. Kalkidan will not require radiation, but a challenge may be getting scans to track her recovery in Ethiopia.
