2 Cups Self Rising Cornmeal 1 Cup HOT Water Instructions Stir together cornmeal and water until completely smooth. Heat 1/4 inch vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. When oil is hot, carefully drop batter from a spoon into the oil and lightly press flat with back of spoon. Cook until browned on the bottom, then flip and cook until browned on the other side. Remove to paper towel lined plate. Serve hot. Makes about 15.
5 STARS!! 1 hour roll recipe - OMG!! THESE are AMAZING!! I followed the recipe, and used a cookie scoop dipped in flour to portion out the rolls (no sticky hands!). Baked as directed, brushed with melted butter and sprinkled lightly with kosher salt. OMG!! Fam went CRAZY for these!!! Make them -- Do NOt wait!! Make them NOW!! :)
