Plate with deep well. Earthenware covered front and back with presumed tin glaze. Painted on the front with a landscape with trees; to the left, Eurydice lying dead, centre a river god, right, Orpheus with a guitar being told of Eurydice's death. Subject derived from Ovid; the scene and inscription on the reverse from Poliziano's `Favola di Orfeo'.
