Klamath County Commissioners placed seven of the county's 30 sheriff's deputies on paid leave Monday as the Oregon Department of Justice has launched a criminal investigation of Klamath County Sheriff Frank Skrah. The DOJ confirmed it is investigating the department but would not elaborate on the focus of the investigation. Department of Justice spokesman Michael Kron acknowledged to the AP Tuesday there is an investigation, but said he could not say what it was about or what prompted it.

Members of the Howell school board are looking into Howell Schools Superintendent Ron Wilson's expense reports, placing Wilson on indefinite paid, non-disciplinary leave while they investigate, the Livingston Daily reported.
