Situated in a ferny glade in Melbourne, Australia, William Ricketts Sanctuary is a place of tranquillity where 92 mystical sculptures are half hidden. In the 1930s William Rickets bought a four-acre bush block and called it Potter's Sanctuary. The Victorian Government heard about his work and, in the early 1960s, bought the land. William Ricketts lived on at the Sanctuary into his nineties and continued to create his sculptures until his death in 1993
"The death of six million Jews had finally been given meaning, he kept saying over and over again. It had happened. After two thousand years, it had finally happened. We were a people again, with our own land. We were a blessed generation. We had been given the opportunity to see the creation of the Jewish state." I want to go soooo bad!
